The Malaysian community in Cambodia came together on Monday for a grand Chinese New Year celebration at the Hyatt Hotel, marking a record-breaking turnout filled with joy, tradition, and festivity.
The event, organised by the Malaysian Business Chamber in Cambodia (MBCC) and presided over by its president, Oknha Tan Khee Meng, in conjunction with the Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia, Shaharuddin Onn, established a positive and auspicious atmosphere for the Year of the Snake. The gathering featured a remarkable assemblage of Malaysian and Cambodian attendees, underscoring the robust cultural connections between the two nations.
A notable evening highlight was the impressive Lion Dance performance; a traditional cultural spectacle believed to dispel evil spirits and promote good fortune. The vibrant presentation, enhanced by the rhythmic accompaniment of drums and cymbals, captivated the attendees and established a celebratory atmosphere.
To further elevate the festive spirit, a lucky draw was held, featuring prizes generously contributed by members of the MBCC. Guests expressed eager anticipation as they awaited their chances to win, with successful participants receiving a diverse range of prizes, including vouchers and electronic gadgets.
